Flooring surface safety is directly to static coefficient of friction (SCOF). This is the measurement of slippage between the sole of the shoe and the flooring surface as a person walks. Underwriters’ Laboratories (UL) and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) recommended a minimum SCOF Of 0.5 for walking surfaces. Anything less then that is ranked as ” Dangerous.” The ADA aims even higher, calling for a SCOF of 0.6 for a level surfaces and 0.8 on inclined surfaces such as ramps. A flooring surfaces SCOF can be affected by specific working conditions. No matter what type of floor, If it Accumulates water, the likelihood of slippage is greatly increased. slip *Buster* Treatment dramatically increases the SCOF on wet hard mineral surfaces. slip*Buster treated surfaces are SAFER WET THAN DRY.
